Which cabinet hardware finish is more similar to stainless steel: dull chrome or satin nickel?

We're choosing Avante cabinet door pulls from a website and the colors may be deceiving...we have a stainless steel sink and a brushed nickel faucet that looks exactly like the sink...so the dull chrome/satin nickel terms have us really confused!
They do not look the same AT ALL; they look different on the website side by side, see:

Actually, all these LOOK identical. It is the materials (metallurgical) that are different. Don't sweat it. Stainless steel, brushed nickel, satin nickel, and dull chrome all virtually look alike. Stainless and brushed nickel look similar to each other but brushed nickel has a slightly warmer ("golden") look. Due to fabrication processes, ANY finish (even stainless steel) can look different from manufacturer to manufacturer. BUT, all your guests will never notice the difference...except perhaps if they do this kind of thing for a living--and none of us will ever fault you (because we know that it is impossible to PERFECTLY match hardware).

SATIN NICKEL finish is nickel plating on brass that has been dulled and lacquer coated. Satin Nickel is sometimes referred to as "brushed nickel". It is similar in appearance to brushed stainless steel or brushed aluminum.

BRUSHED NICKEL is a nickel finish that has been treated to dull the finish. Also known as "matte nickel" or "satin nickel". This finish varies among manufacturers.

MATTE NICKEL is a nickel finish that has been treated to dull the finish. Also known as "satin nickel" or "brushed nickel".

DULL CHROME is a plating, often referred to simply as chrome, manufactured through a technique of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal object. The chromed layer is then decorated with a "brushed" finish. Also known as "satin chrome".

The color of internet photos are unreliable at best. You will have to see it in person. (Even live and up close, florescent, incandescent, mercury, halogen lighting, ect. will cause ANYTHING to look different when viewed in natural light.) If you already have gotten the "brushed nickel faucet"...why don't you stick with that, and get brushed nickel hardware. Sounds like a plan. And stop worrying, it will look great.

Whether you want to conceal it behind cabinetry, hang it on a closet rod, mount it on the wall, slide it in and out or have it revolve, the choices below will get you where you need to go.

1. Carousel Tie Racks - These tie racks may also be known as revolving tie racks. This is the best space saving option for your money. They hold an large portion of ties, yet are compact since they are round and you can access the tie of your choice by simply spinning the carousel around to get to it.

Keep in mind that I recommend manual carousel tie racks over the battery operated (motorized) versions. Consumer satisfaction tends to drop when electricity enters into the picture and there's really no need for a motorized version when a manual one will do the job just as well, if not better, without chewing up battery juice in the process.

Two carousel tie racks you'll want to go for are Woodform's "Carousel Tie Rack" which mounts to a wall or "Twirl a Tie" which hangs on a closet rod. Both can be found at Amazon.com.

2. Closet Rod Tie Racks - These are your basic tie racks. Most of the time, but not always, they resemble basic hangers, except for the fact that they organize your ties. They are the option you would choose if you're adamant about having it hang on closet rod.

3. Wall Mounted Tie Racks - These are very useful if you want to organize your ties and conceal them. They're also great because they don't just mount on a wall (in your closet, etc.) but they can also be mounted just about anywhere if you have the space for them. Consider mounting them underneath a shelf, inside a cabinet, on a door--the sky's the limit. Just be sure to use logic so you don't make any unnecessary mistakes by hanging them in a place that doesn't look right or fit.

4. Extendable Tie Racks - These are great for closet systems or, like wall mounted tie racks, they're also great for hanging them inside of cabinets, on walls, behind doors because in truth, they are actually wall mounted tie racks. They're just wall tie racks with an additional function--which is that they extend. They slide in and out for your convenience.
