Does Electronic get affected by climate condition?

I'm planning to take my camera to North of India near Himalaya Ranges. Its a Digital camera, idon't know the specification but it has 15 X optical zoom with 8.1mega pixel(please explain me this technicalities). Does that climate will effect my Camera, does anything get wrong while operating or anything you would find to make me cautious about the tour. And also tell me for precaution for it like what would I take with me.

Actually your problem will not be with the electronics, but the battery. Most batteries have problems with extreme cold. When I shoot in cold weather (-5 C and below) I keep a couple of spare batteries in my pocket closest to my skin. As one battery starts to fail, I switch it with a warm one. The cold one warms up and I can use it again.
